PUBLIC INFORMATION & RECORDS

 

The Holiday Lakes Police Department is committed to transparency and providing access to public information in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 552.

Requests should identify the records being requested as specifically as possible. A request may include a report or case number, date or date range, location, names involved, or a description of the records requested.

PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUEST FEES

Fees associated with records requests are collected through the Town of Holiday Lakes in accordance with the Town's established fee schedule.

Current Town Fee Schedule:

Labor: $15.00 per hour
Black & White Copies: $0.15 per page
Color Copies: $0.25 per page
USB Drive: $10.00

Additional costs may apply when authorized and applicable to the request.

COST ESTIMATES

In accordance with Texas Government Code §552.2615, if estimated charges will exceed $40.00, the requestor must be provided a written itemized statement of estimated charges before the work is performed.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Requests for public information must be for records or information that already exist. The Texas Public Information Act does not require a governmental body to create new information, answer questions, or perform legal research in response to a request.

Some information may be confidential, subject to redaction, or excepted from public disclosure under state or federal law. 

 

YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE TEXAS PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT

The Texas Public Information Act gives members of the public the right to access government records as provided by law. Requestors have the right to prompt access to public information, equal treatment, and advance notice of certain estimated charges. Additional information regarding your rights and the responsibilities of governmental bodies is available from the Office of the Texas Attorney General.
