MEET CHIEF PATRICIA BILBREY

Chief Patricia Bilbrey's story with the Holiday Lakes Police Department didn't start behind the Chief's desk. She started right here at HLPD and worked her way through the ranks, giving her a firsthand understanding of this department, this town, and the people who call Holiday Lakes home.                                 

She believes good policing isn't complicated: know your community, treat people fairly, look for solutions, and hold people accountable when the law requires it. She trusts the officers of HLPD to know their jobs, make sound decisions, and serve the community with professionalism.

But there's a lot more to Chief Bilbrey than the badge.She is a born-and-raised Texan, a mom of three, and an extremely proud grandmother. Family is a huge part of who she is—and while she would never admit to having a favorite grandbaby, those who know her may have their own opinions about that.                                                                                                                She is also a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, which means during football season there is very little confusion about where her loyalty lies. And then there's coffee. Strong. Black. Hot. And preferably several cups before noon.

Technology, on the other hand, is still a work in progress. Chief Bilbrey has embraced the department's move toward newer systems and technology... even though we're fairly certain that if the decision were entirely hers, HLPD would still be operating with paper, pencils, and a filing cabinet. She's learning. We're proud of her. 

Behind the jokes, however, is a Chief who takes the responsibility seriously. She knows Holiday Lakes because she has served Holiday Lakes.

She understands its challenges, knows many of its residents, and continually looks for practical solutions to problems facing the community.

She expects accountability—from the public, from her officers, and from herself.

KNOW THE COMMUNITY. FIND SOLUTIONS. ENFORCE THE LAW FAIRLY. TRUST YOUR PEOPLE.

Chief Bilbrey believes officers should be given the training, tools, and trust necessary to do their jobs. She expects HLPD officers to exercise good judgment, treat people with respect, and take responsibility for the decisions they make.

At the same time, community policing means more than responding when something goes wrong. It means knowing the people you serve, listening to their concerns, being willing to have conversations, and working together to solve problems before they become bigger ones.

That's the kind of police department Chief Bilbrey wants HLPD to be.
